THE WIND RISES is a Japanese animated historical drama, a  fictionalised biopic of Jiro Horikoshi (1903 – 1982), designer of Mitsubishi fighter aircraft. the film was the highest grossing Japanese film in 2013. It won several awards including for “Best Animated Feature”.
