Whangarei Film Society Inc. screens a varied programme of high quality films. These include international festival releases, award winning documentaries, dramas, avant-garde and historic films.
We are an independent not-for-profit film society, and proudly claim to be "the largest littlest film society in the land"! We have an annual subscription - over 500 members - and as a volunteer organisation we are well supported by our local community with audience numbers often over 100 people for our film sessions.
We have now concluded our 2019 film season with a successful social event and final film on Thursday 21 November in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre.
We will resume our film nights on Thursday 5 March 2020 after the AGM to be held at 6pm.
Check back into these pages in early February to see what films we have scheduled for 2020.
‘Film Club’ at Forum North is the spot where film lovers gather for a drink and to meet friends before Thursday screenings between March and November. Film screenings for 2020 will either be in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre or the Exhibition Hall at Forum North on Rust Avenue due to venue availability.
All residents and visitors to Whangarei are welcome at screenings. Cash & door sales only.
Tickets cost (per film) $10 for members & $15 for non-members. Cash is required (there is an ATM nearby at the BNZ, Rust Avenue).
