Next Screening: The Teacher Who Promised The Sea

July 16, 2026 6:00pm // July 23, 2026 8:00pm

When Ariadna learns a mass grave from the Spanish Civil War is being exhumed, she drops everything and travels to the site. She’s hoping to find evidence of her great-grandfather who disappeared during that time without trace.

It’s through her research of the period that Ariadna learns of a remarkable young teacher who came to work in the town by the name of Antoni. He’s the key for Ariadna as Antoni was her great-grandfather’s teacher.

In flashbacks to the 1930s, Antoni is very much an innovative teacher who inspires his students. More than that, he makes them all a promise: to take them to his home town, 600km away, so they can all see the sea for the first time.
