Whangarei Film Society Inc. screens a varied programme of high quality films. These include international festival releases, award winning documentaries, dramas, avant-garde and historic films.
We are an independent not-for-profit film society, and may well be the largest littlest film society in the land! We are proud of our annual subscription - over 500 members - and as a non-profit volunteer organisation we are well supported by our local community with audience numbers often over 100 people for our film sessions.
Our 2019 film season has had a great start! Lots of audiences and as at the end of April we have signed up 343 members. Woo hoo!
‘Film Club’ at Forum North is the spot where film lovers gather for a drink and to meet friends before Thursday screenings between March and November. Film screenings for 2019 will either be in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre or the Exhibition Hall at Forum North on Rust Avenue.
All residents and visitors to Whangarei are welcome at screenings. Cash & door sales only.
Tickets cost (per film) $10 for members & $15 for non-members. Cash is required (there is an ATM nearby at the BNZ, Rust Avenue).
