Whangarei Film Society Inc. screens a varied programme of high quality films. These include international festival releases, award winning documentaries, dramas, avant-garde and historic films.
We are an independent not-for-profit film society, and proudly claim to be "the largest littlest film society in the land"! We have an annual subscription - over 500 members - and as a volunteer organisation we are well supported by our local community with audience numbers often over 100 people for our film sessions.
Please note – due to a return to Alert LEVEL 4 (COVID-19), we will not be showing any films at Forum North until further notification about Northland returning to a lower level is known. Kia kaha everyone.
We will resume our 2021 film nights with ANTOINETTE IN THE CEVENNES. Don’t miss this film – a real treat!
‘Film Club’ at Forum North is the spot where film lovers gather for a drink and to meet friends before Thursday screenings between March and November.
Film screenings for 2021 are mostly in the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre.
All residents and visitors to Whangarei are welcome at screenings. Cash & door sales only.
Tickets cost (per film) $10 for members & $15 for non-members. Cash is required (there is an ATM nearby at the BNZ, Rust Avenue).
