Charles is a lottery winner who leads an eccentric life. He lives alone on the remote Wallis island and dreams of finding a way to get his favourite musicians, the folk duo of McGwyer and Mortimer back together again.
His fantasy turns into reality when McGwyer and Mortimer accept his invitation to play a private show on the island, not knowing that Charles has invited both of them.
Once the “surprise” is revealed, old tensions quickly resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream and have the two musicians reunite.
