DOCUMENTARY|: In the beginning, she was just a Jewish girl from North London, with a bawdy sense of humour and a voice that carried hints, like subtle notes o perfume, of the singers who’d come before her. In the end, she was both ravaged and radiant. In this intimate, overwhelmingly moving tribute to Amy Winehouse, the great young British soul singer whose talent and fame brought her more fame than anyone might be able to handle, we learn through her song-writing and lyrics about her short and volatile life. Kapadia has spliced her life from home video footage to interviewing those who knew her best.

AMY has won a total of 30 film awards, including Best Documentary Feature at the 88th Academy Awards.
