In Spain, the 1950s was a time of rapid growth in the cities due to industrialisation, with many rural regions left to fall into poverty. The result was a massive influx of villagers and immigrants into the outlying neighbourhoods of Spain’s major cities.
Twenty years later, these neighbourhoods are still not considered part of the city by local government and many have no running water, electricity or even a basic bus service.
Manolo is one of thousands from the neighbourhood who’s frustrated by the City Council’s claim that public transport can’t reach the outlying districts due to unsafe roads.
Fed up, he decides to hijack the Route 47 bus and drive all the way to his neighbourhood to prove the council wrong. And by doing so, Manolo starts a movement.
