Synopsis:

COMEDY:

French farmer Raymond Leroux (Guillaume de Tonquedec) has always been fond of his free-range flock. To congratulate them on their hard work laying eggs, every day he “serenades” the near-6000 poule with a passage from Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac. One “companion chicken” has a special place in his heart. Roxane is always by his side, whether in the car or the farmhouse.

However, making ends meet has become increasingly tough for Raymond and his bank worker wife Anne-Marie (Lea Drucker). So when Gwened Co-op call a meeting of local farmers, he and others are determined to fight their corner for a small rise per egg. The news though is much worse than they could ever have imagined. Seeking to cut costs, the co-op has decided to only deal with large operations. That leaves Raymond and his colleagues just months to find a way to save their farms – or a new vocation.
