DRAMA
Based on Homer’s The Odyssey, King Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself washed up on the shores of his homeland Ithaca after 20 years away fighting the Trojan War. Now haggard and unrecognizable, Odysseus realises so much has changed since he left.
His beloved wife, Penelope (Juliette Binoche), is a prisoner in her own home and hounded by suiters to choose a new husband from amongst them to be the new king.
Meanwhile, her son, Telemachus faces death at the hands of the same men who see him as an obstacle in their quest to rule the kingdom.
Odysseus is no longer the mighty warrior his people remember. But to win back his family and all he’s lost, Odysseus resolves to rediscover his strength.
“A beautiful tale of Odysseus as a man who was broken by a war and how his family and people are suffering. Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche are phenomenal.” – GM
